For now it gets a 4 because at least it’s showing some results. The product asks to wash with shampoo twice (1st wash for 1-2 minutes, 2nd for 3-5 minutes) and at least five times a week. At 180 ml, it’s about the same volume as the Neutrogena T-gel I also have. So for the price it’s at on Amazon, I think it’s a decent price for what it claims to do.
The shampoo smells really good like a lighter version of Herbal Essence and not overwhelming like those Axe shampoos. It contains antioxidants to prevent inflammation of the scalp, so I was surprised I could use this as an alternative to the tire-smelling T-gel for treating my seborrheic dermatitis. A small amount lathers really well (just like T-gel) so even though it doesn’t look like much, the product lasts quite a bit.
I did not see any results within the first week, but I am on my third week now and am beginning to see tiny sprouts of hair where my receding hairline was. Before using this shampoo, my hair used to fall out often when washing. It still falls out even now, but not as much as before. It used to be maybe 7-10 strands of hair falling out, but now it’s 2-4 and I also notice that the base of the strands have a thicker follicle.
Judging by how much I have left, I say one shampoo lasts 2-3 months, considering I wash in the morning and night and use it about 5-6 days of the week. So far, my scalp isn’t red and it doesn’t itch (great alternative to T-gel), but I’ll have to give it an extra month to see how those sprouts do before giving this 5 stars.
7/12/09 UPDATE: A little girl’s bday party yesterday helped make the final decision to say this product works. So before this product, I would wake up with thin flat hair. About a year or two ago, the older sister (about 11 during the time) of this little girl used to ask me why my hair looked thin and say “the top of your head looks empty.” I told her I was getting old and balding. Yesterday, this very same sister of the bday girl said “you look different, it’s like you have more hair.” Reacting to her comment I realize my hair had more volume and felt bushy. Looking at the mirror I also realized it was thicker than before. This product may not work for everyone, but it works for me. =)

I have to admit I am quite impressed with Revita’s shampoo. As a 23yr old with hairloss it can be really difficult to cope with, that’s the only reason I’m writing this because I understand anyone in my same position is out there looking for any help possible. So here ya go,
My honest opinion is that this stuff does work and does help with reducing hair fall and combating thinning hairs. It wont stop hair loss but it will help to thicken hairs and speed up your hair growth cycle (again, my opinion). I started using the stuff over a year and a half ago, I liked it and continued to use it for a year. I then stopped because I wanted to try other products..it seemed I was maintaining what I had and wanted to see if I could stop hair loss altogether. It was probably the biggest mistake I could have made. After about 3 months I lost tons of frontal hair and all the returning hair was much thinner and brittle. After realizing it was stopping the use of Revita that made everything go south, I ordered online immediately and started using it again. I’ve been using it for just over 2 months and I have to say my hair is slowly improving again, all that thinned out hair is slowly returning back to health. I’ll probably use this product for the rest of my life, I’ve come to accept that and am happy to know there is something out there that is actually working for me. I wish you all the best of luck, as difficult as it is try not to stress this too much, it’ll only make things worse. Stay Classy.

This is an amino-vitamin based product and just like with anything natural, it takes time to work. I have been using it for approximtely two months and I have noticed that my hair has stopped falling out. In addition, my hairs seem to have become thicker.. Although not a miracle cure for baldness, this product is effective more on thinning hair than anyting else.. So if you decide to purchase this product.. please be patient. it works.

In my particular case -and we all have different hair/scalp- it makes my hair look thinner. As a shampoo it leaves the hair very soft and nice, but when i use it, I can see my scalp. Again, in my particular case it didn’t work but that doesn’t mean that it won’t work for you.

For the past several years I’ve been noticing that my hair was thinning; I used to have really thick hair. I didn’t think much of it until about a year ago when I started to get really self conscious about it and every year I could see more and more of my scalp. It wasn’t to the point of being bald and having to use Rogaine but something needed to be done. I found this product and although it seemed expensive I decided to try it out based on the positive reviews. I’m very glad that I did. I’ve been using it for 4 months now and I can definitely feel a difference and my girlfriend has commented that she can see and feel the difference too. I use it everyday and you don’t need to use much for a guy with short hair. As soon as I used it, my hair felt a little different than my standard shampoo and I’d have to say that it took about a couple of months to start to feel and see a significant improvement. The instructions call for one application for about a minute or two and a second application left on for about 3-5 minutes. That’s exactly what I do and you feel the difference once you dry your hair. The first application seems to prepare your scalp and the second really foams up with just a tiny bit. One bottle lasts me 2 months using it everyday and following the directions on the bottle. I’ve read reviews about Rogaine that say it stings and smells bad and you have to use it twice a day and should not skip a day. This shampoo should be used at least 5 times a week and smells great, it’s like an apple smell; I don’t experience any stinging. My hair seems to also grow faster so I need more frequent hair cuts but that’s not something I’m complaining about; it’s definitely hair growth stimulating. This is not for someone who is already bald and wants to grow back hair on a bald spot. This is more for someone who has started to see and feel their hair thinning and wants to stop it from getting worse and get some thickness back in their hair. My hair is not what it was 10 years ago but it looks and feels a lot better now and it combs better too. Highly recommended; it’s worth the price for me.

I reviewed this product a week prior to this post. The review lasted on Amazon just a few days before Amazon removed it. I gave it two stars. There was nothing offensive in my review so it is befuddling why Amazon removed. So I give five stars in this repost… if this post lasts then a skew may exist for keeping high-star reviews vs low-star reviews. Anyway, I have some important items to share here. Just two stars in the prior review because of a couple of major gripes: (1) too strong of fragrance and (2) just mild regrowth results. If not for the scent, I award the Rogaine foam 3.5 stars.
Years ago I used the original non-foam Rogaine product. That was before Rogaine Foam entered the market. That was 17 years ago. And I had good results with the non-foam version until I developed an allergy to the polypropylene-glycol (PPG). So I had to stop use about 12 years ago. Back then there was no foam version.
Turns out there are many like me who develop skin allergy to PPG. Fast forward 10 years… the foam version hits market which uses glycerin in place of polypropylene-glycol. The glycerin is much better tolerated. So restarting use the Rogaine two years ago, this time foam version, I had no allergic reaction. Yet the new product now has an added very strong fragrance. Still there was some regrowth using the product. So do try the product and see for yourself. It may work for you. Yet keep your expectations in order. And beware that when you first apply there will be an overwhelming flowery scent that lasts for about 45 minutes until it dries, which can be embarrassing if not accounted for. In case makers of Rogaine are reading, please make a fragrance-free foam version (and soon). My wife has a sensitive nose and complains mightily so I usually have to leave the room.

I just used up three bottles of rogaine. I use it twice a day for almost three months and more thicker hair show up at the back top of my balding head which covers about three to four inches in diameter. The growth seems to be still uneven. I still have fine hair of some of the spots which hopefully it evens up with the rest of the hair for the next three month of use.

I have been using Rogaine for about three months now. I started using it on my temples and have had great results. I have recently started using it on the top of my scalp and my receding hairline. Though not clinically tested for either of these areas this is where my hair loss is. What else can I say plain and simple other than… it works.

The title says it all, I’m in the 15% that it doesn’t work on. Been a month and a half, and nothing. I would recommend giving it a shot, I mean it’s under $40 and if it works, that would be a great deal. I know a lot of people commented on the smell, it smells no worse/better then any kind of moose or hair product people use. It is simple to use, once in the morning, once at night. My only concern is that I don’t see 85% of the reviews saying it works…

I have been using Rogaine for years on the front of my head and it has done a great job of maintaining what I have. I did slack off on using it a few months back and my hair started to get thin. So, I started using it again and now it is back to the way it was before. Now they say it does not work for the front of your head, however this has not been my experience. I find the foam does hold your hair pretty good as long as you do not mess with for the rest of the day. Be sure to wash you hand before and after using the product to reduce the absorption into your skin.
Now some people may notice some shedding after using the product, you will probably freak out because your loosing more hair while using a product that is suppose to grow hair. This normal, stay focused and continue to use the product. Your hair will shed and come back thicker and fuller. Also, at the first sign of hair loss you should start Rogaine, after a certain amount of time I believe Rogaine will be ineffective.
I also use other products as part of my hair loss regimen, they are – DS Labs (aka Revita) – High Performance Hair Growth Stimulating Shampoo, 180 Milliliter liquid (View amazon detail page) for shampooing my hair. For a conditioner I use Nioxin Scalp Therapy #2 – Natural Hair – Noticeably Thinning (4.2 oz.).
